Our customer

The Customer is the party listed as the buyer at https://functioninform.co.nz – checkout.

Items & stock

All items listed on our website are in stock at the time of listing & held at any of our New Zealand storage locations.

In the unlikely situation where we (FiF) are unable to supply an item at time of purchase, we will contact the purchaser to explain & arrange a refund of any payment made in relation to the item within 5 days. We will also be able to advise any alternative options, similar items available etc.

Item & website information

We collect information from our extensive library, experience, the Internet (Wikipedia) & other resources. We try our absolute best to ensure the accuracy of comments & information relayed.

We are of course unable to avoid human error in every case.
Should you find incorrect descriptions of any item – please contact FiF on email admin@functioninform.co.nz to ‘set us right’. We would appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

Item condition

All our items, unless stated are Vintage, so some wear or signs of age is to be expected.

We provide a detailed account of every item’s condition notes; any known flaws or damage on the ‘Description‘ tab of each listing and grade items with a ‘FiF Rating’ on the ‘Additional Information‘ tab. These ratings provide a guide to the overall condition of the item listed.

We ask customers to please check items dimensions, descriptions / condition notes, & carefully inspect item pictures.

If you have any questions – please liaise with FiF – we are happy to take your call & will always give an honest & accurate description of the item’s condition – if required we may provide additional photos.
We are available during normal business hours and are more than pleased to hear from you.

For Home Audio equipment, Lighting, Furniture etc – we provide the opportunity to view, hear, & discuss items at our workshop, located in West Auckland.

Order Process

Not all orders are the same but for the most part – the standard Function in Form order process is detailed as per the chart below.

Order Cancellation

At any time prior to payment being made orders may be cancelled.

To cancel an order:

  • Log into your account on the website https://functioninform.co.nz & navigate to ‘My Orders’ From here you can then select to cancel any current order that payment has not been made for.
  • Email admin@functioninform.co.nz – please provide your order No. as reference.

Should you wish to cancel an order that has been paid for but you have not yet received shipping details for – please contact admin@functioninform.co.nz asap. If your email catches us before we ship the item – we will be able to cancel your order for you & arrange a refund of payment.

Orders placed, paid for & delivered/sent for delivery cannot be cancelled.

Returns & Refunds

As all our items are unique, ‘one off’ vintage pieces, we go to lengths to give an accurate description & detail any defects etc. See each listings ‘Description‘ & ‘Additional Information‘ tabs for details & FiF Rating of the items overall condition level.

We ask customers to please check items dimensions, item description, condition notes, & carefully inspect item pictures.

Returns

To return an item – please contact us at admin@functioninform.co.nz or telephone +649 553 7097. We will confirm & advise the best return location & procedure. We can confirm returns in the following circumstances:

  • The item is not as described.
  • The item does not function as described or is defective.

We cannot accept returns in case of:

  • Change of mind
  • Freight damage – see Shipping
  • Item is accurately described on our website listing.

Items must be returned in original packaging, including all objects sent. Return postage is at the purchaser’s cost.
Function in Form will repair or arrange repair of item within 21 days of item being received. If repair or replacement is not possible, we will arrange a refund of the items purchase price. Return post cost is covered by FiF.

Refunds

Due to the ‘one off’ nature of our pieces we may be unable to repair or provide replacement for a returned item within 21 days. In this case a full refund of the items purchase price will be made within 21 days of the items return to FiF.
Return postage is responsibility of the purchaser.

Warranty period

See individual listings ‘Additional Information‘ tab for warranty details applied to each item.

Return procedure within warranty period is as above with Refunds.

If an item is marked as “Vintage Item – Sold ‘As Stated’ then purchaser should contact FiF asap to confirm return,

We cannot confirm returns of ‘As Stated’ items after 5 days.

Warranties

Different warranty types are applied to different item types – please see the ‘Additional Information’ tab to confirm the warranty type offered on any specific item.

Our warranty types are:

3 months Return to Shop Warranty

“3 Months Return to Shop- guaranteed as stated for 3 months from purchase.”
Details:

  • This item is guaranteed for 3 months from purchase date to be as stated in our product description.
  • FiF will repair or arrange repair of the item within 21 days, offer a replacement, or refund the purchase price.
  • Items must be returned & retrieved to/from our shop/workshop in Auckland at the purchaser’s cost.

Vintage Audio Appliance Warranty Repair Note

“3 Months Return to Shop- guaranteed as stated for 3 months from purchase.”

As with any vintage item we are unable to warranty existing materials etc beyond the 3-month warranty period. IE. Original construction components etc.

Due to possible complexities of audio equipment repair – in some cases FiF may be required to outsource repair to one of our repair partners or source components from international vendors.
Please note repair agent timeframes can vary & sourcing of replacement components can add delays. These timeframes & delays are not able to be influenced by FiF.

If expected repair timeframe or supply of components is not possible within 21 days of items return – FiF will inform the purchaser & confirm if repair is to be pursued. If repair is opted against, FiF will refund the purchase price. NB. the item will become property of FiF.

Whilst any items are with FiF repair agents we will provide updates & do our best to ensure repairs done on behalf of FiF are given priority throughout the process.

54 FiveSix ‘New’ item warranty

“54 FiveSix New Item- guaranteed materials & workmanship for 6 mths from purchase”
Details:

  • We guarantee materials & workmanship for 6 months from purchase.
    Of course, this only applies to faults in the materials or construction faults and not misuse or abuse.
  • 54 FiveSix will repair or arrange repair of the item within 21 days, provide a replacement item, or refund the purchase price. Return postage of repaired item freight will be covered by FiF.
  • Items must be returned to our shop/workshop in Auckland at the purchaser’s cost.

New Upholstery Warranty

“New Upholstery- guaranteed materials & workmanship for 6 mths from purchase”.
Details:

  • We guarantee upholstery materials & workmanship for 6 months from purchase. Of course, this only applies to faults in the materials or construction faults and not misuse or abuse.
  • We will repair or arrange repair of the item within 21 days. Return postage of repaired item freight will be covered by FiF.
  • Items must be returned to our shop/workshop in Auckland at the purchasers cost.

Vintage Item Warranty
Vintage Item – Sold ‘As Stated
Details:

This item is vintage and has not been structurally or materially repaired by Function in Form, we are unable to offer a warranty period.
Please see items description for condition notes.

General Notes

We strive for customer satisfaction & take great pride in all our items/products. We will always discuss any issues or concerns you have with any item & ensure a satisfactory resolution.

If any misrepresentation in the item description or fault is shown to be existing at the time of sale – the item will be repaired, or a full refund given. If the fault is found to be due to misuse, abuse, or freight damage then the customer will be liable for repair costs.

Consumer guarantees act 1993

Regardless of the warranty applied – we strictly adhere to the NZ consumer guarantees act 1993

This act states we will provide items that are:

  • of acceptable quality
  • fit for purpose
  • matching to the description given
  • matching any samples or demonstrations given
  • sold at a reasonable price, if a price wasn’t agreed beforehand
  • able to be legally sold

Item ownership

All items listed as ‘Available’ are owned 100% by Function in Form. To maintain quality and keep prices down – we do not sell any items on behalf or on consignment.

Ownership of the items remain with Function in Form until full payment has been received.

If full payment is not received – ownership is not passed to the customer & Function in Form or their representatives may repossess goods supplied by entering the Customer’s premises where such goods are (within reason) thought to be stored.

Payments

We accept payment:

  • via direct bank transfer
  • Cash or bank transfer upon delivery
  • Cash or bank transfer upon pick up

Nb. Delivery is available to the Auckland area only.

In some cases we may request a deposit payment prior to delivery.

Prices Currency

All our prices are listed in New Zealand Dollar currency. All payments will be/must be made in New Zealand dollar. If using an international credit card – exchange rates & fees will be set by the card issuer, & the purchaser is responsible to confirm these.

New Zealand Goods & Services tax

All prices listed for sale on our website include 15% GST tax. A GST invoice will be sent upon order completion.

Delivery

When delivery is requested – either as a ‘paid for delivery fee’ or as ‘free delivery’. Delivery dates & times will be arranged. Please note that the expected Auckland delivery time is within 10 days from date of purchase, however we often deliver within just a few days. Sorry – we cannot deliver outside of the Auckland area.

Note: any damage to property caused by FiF staff during delivery must be notified within 24hrs of delivery – we will arrange a claim against our public liability insurance.

Delivery in lieu of freight

When purchasing items via our website and requesting / making payment for standard post delivery – it is the prerogative of FiF to offer free delivery – we will do this if we have a buying trip in your area coming up (this may be outside of Auckland) or if you are in the Auckland area and we are able to deliver to you within our travels.
We will contact you if this is a possibility – if the time frame does not suit you, your item is sent via NZ Post asap.

Please note: the freight component of your purchase is not refunded or credited – this value is absorbed in the delivery costs incurred by FiF.
