Creek Audio Systems
The first of the famous Creek amps designed by Mike Creek. The 4040 hit the UK market in 1982 and was hailed for its sound quality & detail, but seen with disbelief. How could a British start-up company take on established brands, even their flagship models, like the NAD 3020 & undercut them!
Mike Creek began building these amps in a spare room in his home, demand soon exceeded 100 units per week – a company premise was required, quick smart
By 1985 Creek Audio was manufacturing up to 1200 ‘4040’ amps & ‘3040’ tuners per month at their English factory. Exporting to over 20 countries! The iconic brand ‘Creek’ had been created!
