Reluctant Sale…….. This is a favorite turntable. It looks great, does everything well, is stable, easy to use, sounds great. Like a classic Toyota in absolute fantastic condition – it’s not the best car ever made, but never fails to please & almost impossible to replace.
To reward its weeks of recent service we have given this turntable a treat & fitted ‘new, old stock’ Nagaoka MM cartridge & stylus which is sounding fab.
New drive belt also fitted, serviced & cleaned, grease & lube in all the right places. RCA plugs replaced.
Keeps spot on speed – Belt drive – Auto stop – 33/45 speeds
Wow and flutter less than 0.175% (0.12% WRMS tested)
Signal to noise ratio better than 48dB (52dB A-weighted tested).
The’ Apan‘ brand appeared only in Australasia, in South America these were the ‘Perfection Denky’. In Japan & Europe – Sanyo.
This example branded Avalon is from NZs Avalon Audio. Manufacturers & suppliers of some of NZs better HiFi equipment. They also produced a lot of great UK brand equipment under license for the Australasian market during the 1970s.
