Great speakers – I really like these units. Currently using a set of C55 (a bigger brother) in the office & they’re super!
Lovely sound, great quality & design. Sealed enclosure – the only way to go for detailed, controlled bass.
These first incarnations of the KEF ‘Uni Q’ concentric (the high frequency driver is mounted inside the bass driver) speakers had issues with tweeter ferro fluid drying out & effectively seizing the high frequency driver. So, we didn’t want to just go with the originals as we were detecting a slight dullness to one tweeter – a sure sign that these are on their way. It has been a difficult task sourcing replacements in excellent condition – I think we’ve been trying for about two years. However, we found a pair & very pleased we did.
New grille cloth – mid brown colour to match the cabinets.

Recommended Amplifier: 10 to 100W Nb. factory specs these. Let’s be truthful – recommended amplifier range for these in our thoughts, should be 30 – 75w. They want a bit of power (not necessarily volume – power as in headroom) to achieve their beautiful sharp bass response. No doubt they would enjoy a 100w amp, but if you delivered the full 100w to them – they would be stressed.
