Picquot (pronounced Pea-ko) ware was first created by the British company Burrage and Boyd, founded in 1932, based in Northhampton.
A few years later they created this unique alloy of aluminum and magnesium which produced a silver-like look after polishing. In 1938 the K3 kettle was designed and was to go into production in 1939. The outbreak of the Second World War postponed these plans and it wasn’t until 1946-47 that the kettle was finally released.
This set probably dates from the 1960s. The alloy was called magnaillium and the handles are sycamore wood. It is cast in one piece which avoids leaks.
Intended to & will last a lifetime.
