Very pretty yellow faced wall clock – by Westlox Ltd Scotland.
Almost 1980s modern in style, but direct out of the 1960s.
Original electric mechanism replaced with battery operated Quartz mechanism.
Keeps spot on time, has a discrete click – Nice kitchen clock. Face – 18cm diameter / 5cm Deep

Vintage condition – Some discolouring on the face
Glass face is perfect.
NB. As new mechanism installed within original casing – it is required to remove clock back to set time/change battery. This is a tool free task and is done by design with a single twist. Very easy, but worth mentioning…

Westclox Scotland produced its first clock on the 21st September 1948
By 1949 Westclox were making 10,000 clocks a week, and by 1950, 1,000,000 clocks had been produced. No home in the Dunbartonshire Vale was without at least one.
By the mid 1960’s, employment at the Scottish plant was 1,100 strong.
Westclox Scotland made headlines in October 1974, hosting a Space Seminar for the Astronaut, Neil Armstrong and British Astronomer, Sir Patrick Moore. Both visited the Scottish factory to promote the introduction of ‘Quartz’ time-keeping.
