Designed no doubt for Joy Division listeners…. I have to say their Closer album sounds amazing through these 🙂
NB. Please excuse the terrible photography – these are too big to fit in our photo taking space & we struggled with light.
Great condition – Real wood veneer cabinets refinished by 54 FiveSix Furniture.
NB. These are heavy & appeared to have been dropped a couple of times (I’m not surprised – they are HEAVY!). Full repairs have been made – top of one cabinet – rear bottom corner of the other – see last two pics.
A special pair of speakers – Not often do we come across speakers like this – the point to note is that the detail & clarity continues across the entire volume range – right up to unbearable levels
LED meters on front displays DB levels – not active till you hit higher volumes. Overload protection circuit will cut power to the speakers in case of overloading. A simple press of the reset button & you’re back & running – no need to replace your expensive speakers.
Checked over in detail – one ‘super tweeter’ replaced. Caps checked – all OK. The CD90 model is the 1983 version of the Mach 9 model. It was 1983 so everything had to have ‘CD’ in its label. The only difference we could find is that the stripes on the front baffles are red, not white & the British ELCAP capacitors have been swapped for high quality Japanese caps – A Good Move!
Recommended amplifier range – 40 – 100watt. These want a bit of room – ideal in larger rooms or open plan areas.
