Excellent original condition.
Cabinets are great – the odd small scuff, but not in need of restoration. Construction is a mixture of solid & veneer walnut.
All original drivers – in great shape. A well cared for set.
Electrolytic capacitors replaced to ensure many years of listening pleasure ahead.
Although these may look like the 1970s ‘Big Boomers’ from JVC, Pioneer, Sansui etc, the sound is very different. These are clear & exact. Detailed & engaging. Capable, yet refined. Not bagging out the Japanese big boys – they have their own sound – it’s just different.
The 15″ bass driver, although extremely capable of moving large volumes of air (being loud) is a very well controlled & accurate beast. Paper cone & firm suspension – it just works!
NB. They want a bit of space – so not a set for a small room.
