Metamec Ltd were a prolific clock producer 1947 – 1970s
The name company “Metamec” is derived from “metal-work and mechanics”.
From the first produced clock in 1947 Metamec delivered high quality fashionable clocks with great success – Most popular are the large ‘Sunburst’ chrome, teak and brass clocks of the sixtys & seventies.
From mid 1960s throughout the 70s, Metamec employed approx 750 people, manufacturing 350 models of clock, and producing 25,000 clocks per week!
