Metamec Ltd - prolific UK clock producer 1947 – 1970s.
From the first clock produced in 1947. Metamec delivered high quality fashionable clocks in great numbers – Most popular are the large ‘Sunburst’ chrome, brass & teak clocks of the sixtys & seventies.
Throughout the late 1960s & 70s, Metamec employed approx. 750 people, manufacturing 350 models of clock, and producing 25,000 clocks per week.
The company name derived from 'metal-work & mechanics' - “Metamec”
