Westclox

Quality Timing Devices. Made in Scotland since 1948

Westclox Scotland produced its first clock on the 21st September 1948, a spring wound alarm with a 4 inch dial.

From the 1950s Westclox operated a full manufacturing plant; all their clocks were assembled from start to finish with only the basic raw materials being brought in by outside suppliers.

95% of staff were local people and the firm trained their employees from scratch to a high level of skill including apprenticeships for toolmakers, even conducting annual classes in horology (the art of making time pieces).
